Off The Wall: Rethinking The Print

This series of sticks evolved out of an installation I did called “the unswept floor.” There is an old Greek mosaic that depicts garbage and other detritus on the floor all beautifully depicted in meticulous mosaic to which someone attached this title. I had been making odd, small sculptural objects that were a take on this idea although they were displayed on the wall instead of on the floor.
A few of these objects started to get large and were leaning against the wall rather than hanging on it, thus the series of sticks began.
